“extensive preparation to all walls, ceilings and cornices…”

The Lobby suffered from years of maintenance and public use and had lost most of its character and beauty through many touch ups and repainting. Mulholland Restoration and Decorating were asked to formulate a new colour scheme replicating the original. This was done after extensive preparation to all walls ceilings and cornices.

A base colour was applied, and scumble glazing was applied to all surfaces, utilising different techniques to achieve varied finishes. Gold leaf was applied to the cornices to add a bit of dazzle. There was a small amount of marbling done to complete the look. Materials used were Wattyl premium low sheen for base coats, and stumble mediums were mixed to suit the application required. Most of the existing timber work was cleaned up and recoated.
