Complete restoration of the plaster and painted decorative scheme. This 1920s stylized interior is a study in the decorative art of scumbling.
Closed for 30 years, the condition of the surfaces required substantial work to stabilize the plaster and retrieve the character of the ornately detailed interior.
Every inch of the interior is treated by scumbling; using a transparent oil and wax glaze, coloured to impart either a translucent result or near opaque finish for strength and structural detailing.
This is an inspired theme interior of the Hollywood style from that period.
